Former Leeds United star makes sensational Dominic Calvert-Lewin admission – ‘He is…’

Leeds United striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been the subject of much praise this season.

United’s number nine recently shed light on his inspired half-time team talk against Manchester City, with Brenden Aaronson labelling Calvert-Lewin’s speech as unforgettable.

The Englishman has also continued to make an impact on the pitch, even in games he isn’t scoring, by harassing defenders, winning flick-ons, and the fact that he is doing the dirty work required from a striker has quickly ensured that Calvert-Lewin has become one of Leeds’ most important players.

This role he has in the team has led former Leeds player Michael Bridges to heap some more hefty praise onto Daniel Farke’s talisman.

Michael Bridges makes huge Dominic Calvert-Lewin claim

During his time with the Whites, Bridges made 56 appearances for Leeds, netting on 19 occasions.

The former striker recently admitted in a video on Leeds United’s YouTube channel that he would have wanted to play alongside Calvert-Lewin after the Whites’ 1-0 win over Fulham.

“He is the type of player that I would relish playing alongside because he does the work, where you gamble on the flick-ons, you can play in front of him when you get the hold-up play.

“There was the striker who I played alongside here, who was incredible at that, Mark Viduka.

“When that ball went up, you knew that ball was going to stick, and he was going to bring others into the game, so you know what Dominic has done today: very unselfish player and, obviously, has led to that result.”

Dominic Calvert-Lewin will have a chip on his shoulder against Everton

After leaving the Toffees after nine years to join Leeds, Calvert-Lewin will be eager to impress against his former employers when Leeds face off with Everton next Monday.

The decision for Everton to let Calvert-Lewin go seemingly ages worse and worse after every game that goes by, especially when considering the struggles David Moyes’ side has had with his two strikers, Thierno Barry and Bet,o failing to perform consistently.

Stat Dominic Calvert-Lewin Thierno Barry Beto
Appearances (Premier League) 20 22 22
Goals 9 4 2
Assists 1 0 0

Calvert-Lewin scoring against Everton would only wind the blue half of Liverpool up even further, as the Englishman is currently outperforming both of their strikers combined so far this campaign.

Whilst comparisons to Viduka may be a bit premature from Bridges, if Calvert-Lewin can help stabilise Leeds as a Premier League club again over the course of multiple seasons, he will certainly be on course to earn hero status at Elland Road.
