It has been revealed that Leeds United have reached an agreement with Harry Wilson this week. The Welsh international is currently one of the best free agents on the market.

He recently turned down a new deal from Fulham in order to leave the club.

Per The Athletic, a medical will be completed soon and the club will announce Wilson’s signing. He ended last season with 11 goals and eight assists in all competitions.

He will fit nicely as Daniel Farke will finally have a creative midfielder in this side.

Last season, Leeds struggled in attack, with most games being decided by slim margins. Adding Wilson to this team means that the club has a player who can score and create in midfield or the attack.

Leeds United exploring transfer deal for Champions League star

In the same report from David Ornstein, it has been revealed that Leeds United are eyeing a move for Julian Brandt.

The Borussia Dortmund star has already agreed to leave his club as a free agent when his contract expires. Brandt is expected to receive some offers from big clubs ahead of this coming season.

The German international can play as an attacking midfielder or in deeper roles in the middle of the park.

Nothing has been confirmed yet, but The Athletic confirms that the Whites are interested in a deal. Julian Brandt ended last season with 11 goals and four assists in all competitions.

‘Big’ clubs are leading the race for Julian Brandt

Signing Brandt will not be easy; getting a player of his calibre will be very difficult.

It would take convincing him to leave potential Champions League football next season to come and join Leeds United. When it comes to that aspect, the Whites cannot compete.

Getting Harry Wilson on board already shows the 49ers’ ambition going into next season.

The ownership are aiming to make the club a consistent staple in the Premier League going forward and are preparing for that. Including spending huge money on the Elland Road development.

Per Football Insider, Atletico Madrid and AS Roma are leading contenders for the German international.

Leeds would have to be very convincing of their current project and the future to pull off this move. Financially, they might also have to pay more than rival clubs to seal the deal.
