Leeds United denied Spurs a win at home on Monday night, after their Premier League survival was confirmed. The club play their final home game of the season on Saturday.
The Whites faced their former player Archie Gray when they faced Tottenham. The young midfielder was left on the bench and did not appear in the game on the night.
This weekend, Leeds will face another former player as Georginio Rutter returns to Elland Road. The Frenchman was a very big part of the Whites’ 2023/24 season in the Championship.
How former Leeds United star is feeling ahead of Elland Road return
Rutter has had a decent time since joining Brighton a few years ago. But in the build up to this weekend’s game, Fabian Hurzeler has revealed that Rutter is not pleased with his playing time at the club in recent weeks.
The forward has made just two starts since February in the Premier League, and his coach has acknowledged this ahead of Rutter’s return to Elland Road.
“I feel that he’s in a good place, of course he’s not happy with his game, that’s normal,” Hurzeler said in Thursday’s press conference.
“But I feel that he’s there for the teammates, that he’s there for the club and that’s the most important, that everyone puts their ego behind the success of the club.”
However, the Brighton star could be handed a way back into the team after Kaoru Mitoma was ruled out for the rest of the season with a hamstring injury.

Whites can finish the season on a high this weekend
This Saturday gives Leeds United a big opportunity to end the season on a high. Daniel Farke has done an incredible job with the team, and ending their first Premier League season back with a win at home would be incredible.
The last game at Elland Road saw a great atmosphere at home as the club beat Burnley. Fans will be hoping for a very similar occasion when they meet Brighton on Saturday afternoon.
Fabian Hurzeler’s side are in a European place, and could clinch it with a result away from home. But with the Whites being unbeaten in the league since their return from the international break, they will be a tough opponent.
The list of absentees will be long, as Noah Okafor, Jayden Bogle, Ilia Gruev, Gabriel Gudmundsson and Pascal Struijk will be out of the game.
