Key Leeds United figure spotted with matchday squad, could start tonight against Liverpool

Leeds United defender Max Wober has been pictured with the rest of the squad ahead of tonight’s Premier League clash against Liverpool.

The Whites will be looking to bounce back quickly this evening as they host Jurgen Klopp’s Reds, after suffering a damaging 1-5 home defeat against Crystal Palace last time out.

Whilst no easy feat, picking up any form of positive result against Liverpool is not impossible given their patchy form this season.

The Merseyside club look a shadow of the side that pushed Manchester City’s title win to the final day of league action last term, and have struggled for points on the road this season in particular.

Leeds are not without their own struggles, however, with their defensive fragility coming under scrutiny as of late. Given that the Whites have conceded 10 goals in their last 3 matches, these claims are not without merit.

The absence of centre-back Max Wober due to an injury sustained during March’s international break is cited by many Leeds supporters as the main reason behind their side’s recent defensive issues.

Leeds boss Javi Gracia was typically coy when asked about Wober’s status in his pre-match press conference last Friday, claiming that he didn’t know whether the Austrian international would be ready to play.

Now, Wober’s chances of featuring have received a slight boost, as he has been pictured amongst the rest of the squad taking their morning stroll from their team hotel (as per @UnitedLeeds14_ on Twitter).

Wober’s return to the Leeds XI would be a massive boost to a struggling back line tasked with stifling an ever-threatening Liverpool attack at Elland Road this evening.
