Leeds United had a very exciting game at Elland Road on Monday night, but the game was not lacking in interesting moments. Following the match, the Whites have now written to the Premier League over a decision taken during the game.
Daniel Farke’s men recorded their biggest win of the season against the Magpies.
The game gave them the perfect chance to bounce back following the huge defeat at the hands of Chelsea in the League Cup. And Leeds did not disappoint the home crowd, scoring three goals in the first half.
Noah Okafor added a fourth in the second half and Newcastle got a consolation as the game ended 4-1.
Farke’s side continue their unbeaten start to the season, ending Matthias Jaissle’s side’s run in the process.

The 90 minutes was full of action and goals, but the match itself brought some talking points after the final whistle.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s yellow card for elbowing Fabian Schar was widely discussed, with many believing it deserved a red card. Referee Michael Salisbury only flashed a yellow, and VAR did not send him to the monitor.
Another less controversial incident was the second goal for Leeds.
Both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Jayden Bogle contested a header in the box, before the ball found its way into the back of the net. During the game, it was confirmed that Bogle had been awarded the goal.
It is believed he got the last touch after Calvert-Lewin initially got his head to it. The striker even joked after the game that the defender admitted he did not get a touch on the ball.
BBC reporter Ian Dennis has confirmed that Leeds have submitted an appeal to the Premier League over the goal.

A second panel will now review the goal to determine if the goal was indeed scored by the England striker.

Goal would be a huge confidence boost for Calvert-Lewin
Many would ask why Leeds are making this appeal, but there is no harm in asking for a review of a goal that was not clear on-field.
Many angles did show Dominic Calvert-Lewin getting his head to it, but it is very unclear if Bogle did touch it. And the striker posting a story on socials joking that his teammate did not get a touch was light hearted.
If the goal is ruled as Bogle’s or not, it is still a win for Leeds.
But with strikers, sometimes they do need their goals to be recognized in order to boost their confidence. Last season, the Whites’ best form came when Calvert-Lewin was on a roll, and this could kickstart another run of goals.
