Many fans will remember him from his loan spell a few years back, where he was abysmal in every game. But the midfielder was an impressive cog in the US team, that also finished in the Round of 16.
Former Leeds United flop seen as key target for Premier League club
No Leeds United player made the England squad this summer, despite Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s effort last season.
Djed Spence however, was a surprise call up by Thomas Tuchel. Tottenham had a horrible season and narrowly escaped relegation by finishing in 17th place in the league.
According to The Athletic, Everton are interested in the England star.
The defender has been a big part of the team’s success at the World Cup, which could earn him a summer move. The Toffees are keen on adding a right back who can start for the team, with Spence listed as one of the options.
He has three years remaining on his current deal at Spurs, so he will not be cheap.
The prospect of being the first choice starter at Everton will be intriguing, as he is mainly a rotation option at the London club.

Djed Spence has done well for himself since Leeds spell
Spence had a loan spell at Leeds United in the 2023/24 season.
He only managed seven appearances for the club over the course of the campaign. Injury kept him out for most of his loan spell, but he was benched by Daniel Farke too.
According to the reports, Farke and Spence never were on good terms.
The defender had his season-long loan cut short in that January. After his departure, the Leeds boss said that ”nothing major” was the reason for his departure, and that it was the club’s decision.
Djed Spence has done well for himself in the last three years; establishing himself with Tottenham and becoming an England international.
However, he will not be fondly remembered by the Leeds fanbase after his spell at Elland Road.
