Before the season began last year, Leeds United boss Daniel Farke had some tough decisions to make in pre-season. After winning promotion, many fans knew the team would change.
Not every player from the Championship can compete in the Premier League.
Farke made his decisions on players known as early as the training camp in Germany. News broke then that Patrick Bamford did not make the trip, as he was not in plans for the upcoming season.
The move shocked fans, and eventually Bamford parted way with the club.
Another decision the Leeds boss gave the greenlight to was the return of Jack Harrison. The winger had been away on loan at Everton for consecutive seasons, with many tipping him to leave.
He was re-integrated in pre-season, and was in the squad for the campaign.
Leeds United make decision on first team star
Another summer has come around and Jack Harrison remains a Leeds United player.
Despite initially being in the plans last season as a player with Premier League experience, he got limited minutes. Harrison then pushed for a move away in January, joining Fiorentina on loan.
His loan spell did not impress the Italian side enough, and they decided not to trigger the buy option.
The winger has yet to report to pre-season training, with no sign of him in the club’s recent videos and media.
Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider is reporting that Leeds have reached a decision on Harrison’s future. Per the report, the club have sanctioned an exit for him this summer.
The Whites are open to another loan deal, with their main aim to get the 29-year old off their books this season.
Jack Harrison is under contract at Elland Road until 2028, and remains one of the highest paid players at the club.

No use keeping Jack Harrison around this season
The 49ers need to shoot down any efforts of keeping Harrison around this season.
Their call to keep him in the squad last year backfired spectacularly. The winger pushed for a move and forced his way out in January, a move that led to Leeds signing Buonanotte on loan.
Getting him off the books is the right call; he still has two years on his deal.
The 29-year old’s value did not get any higher after his disastrous loan spell in Italy.
He is not in Daniel Farke’s plans for the coming campaign, and his wages are a problem. Leeds need to take any chance they get to offload him this offseason.
