Leeds United have made a fantastic start to the season with a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday, but there is still plenty for the club to sort out in the transfer market before the window closes.

The Whites are still looking for cover at goalkeeper, striker and left-back, while Daniel Farke would also like to add a versatile forward who can give him more options in attack.

Leeds missed out on Julian Brandt after the Germany international opted to join Ajax, while it remains uncertain whether Igor Paixao will leave Marseille before the deadline despite the French club’s need to raise funds.

The Whites have been monitoring many attacking options throughout the summer, but they also need to move several players on before the window closes to free up space for further additions.

Leeds United star desperate to leave Elland Road

Pascal Struijk left Leeds early in the transfer window to join Brighton, and the club confirmed the departures of Joel Piroe and Sebastiaan Bornauw last week.

Leeds hope to find a solution for Lucas Perri, whose move to Torino has stalled after the Italian club developed second thoughts about signing him.

However, the club are nowhere close to solving the Largie Ramazani problem, who is still at Leeds, despite Daniel Farke leaving him out of the pre-season preparations.

He has no future at Leeds, but his only suitor, Valencia, are not prepared to meet Leeds’ financial demands for the Belgian’s departure.

The Spanish club hope to run down the clock and force Leeds into accepting a cut-price sale before the window closes.

According to Tribuna Deportiva, Ramazani has again let Valencia know that he wants to return to Mestalla, where he had a successful loan spell last season.

Valencia will again step up their efforts to sign the winger if they do not find better options in the market.

Their preference is to sign him on another loan, something Leeds are desperate to avoid this summer as they want a permanent sale.

Leeds may have to compromise

Largie Ramazani’s time at Leeds United appears to be coming to an end after Daniel Farke left him out of the club’s pre-season tour.

The Leeds boss rarely relied on the Belgian during their Championship campaign, and there is little to suggest his stance has changed. With Harry Wilson already at the club and Leeds still looking to strengthen on the left, Ramazani’s chances of forcing his way back into Farke’s plans look extremely slim.

Leaving him out of pre-season has also made Leeds’ intentions clear: they want to find him a new club. That puts the Whites in a difficult position during negotiations, as Valencia and other interested sides know Leeds are keen to move him on and could simply wait for the asking price to drop as the deadline approaches.

Leeds may therefore have to accept a lower fee than they originally wanted or consider another loan if they are to finally find Ramazani a new club this summer.
