Leeds United have already guaranteed themselves another season in the Premier League with matches still left to play, and attention is beginning to turn towards the summer transfer window.

With survival secured, the club are increasing their work behind the scenes and continuing to assess several possible targets before the season finishes.

Unlike last summer, Leeds are not expected to overhaul the squad, but they still want to improve a number of key areas ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The Whites are almost certain to sign a striker in the upcoming transfer window, and they have their eyes on raiding Burnley for the signature of Zian Flemming.

Leeds are on red alert amid increased competition for Zian Flemming

Zian Flemming has been one of the shining lights of a Burnley side that have never looked like surviving in the Premier League this season.

He has scored 10 Premier League goals in 27 appearances for a poor side, and with Burnley relegated to the Championship, the forward is almost certain to leave the club this summer.

Leeds have their eyes on Flemming and are considering making a move for him in the upcoming transfer window as part of their plans to improve their attack.

Zian Flemming Premier League Stats (2025/26 Season)
Metric Value
Matches Played (Starts) 27 (19)
Goals (Penalties) 10 (2)
Assists 0
Expected Goals (xG) 7.58
Minutes Played 1,601
Goals Per 90 Minutes 0.56

However, according to Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke, several other clubs are interested in getting their hands on the Burnley striker this summer.

He said, “I think Leeds and a number of clubs will have taken note of Flemming.

“He’s probably been the shining light for Burnley in a disappointing season, with 10 goals in the Premier League. Flemming has had a very good season, personally.

“With Burnley now suffering relegation from the Premier League, the vultures will probably be circling for their best players, and there is no doubt that Flemming is among those top performers

“Leeds, again, could be a good fit for him because they probably will look to strengthen their attacking options in the summer.

“I think there’ll be interest abroad as well, probably from his native Netherlands, with clubs maybe hoping that they could lure him back.

“He’s a player that Burnley are probably expecting interest and offers for, and they’re going to probably have to cash in on them if he does have interest from clubs in the Premier League and even from top clubs from abroad as well.”

Leeds ‘aim to beat’ their rivals to the signature of Burnley striker, who is attracting attention from several clubs ahead of the summer.

The club need a striker

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has played a big role in helping Leeds move closer to Premier League survival, which now looks increasingly likely to be secured in the coming weeks.

At the same time, his recent performances have highlighted that Leeds cannot rely on him to consistently deliver goals across a full Premier League season.

With survival appearing close, the club are expected to target another striker who can provide greater quality in attack, whether that is to compete with Calvert-Lewin or eventually take over as the first-choice forward next season.

Leeds know they need to keep improving rather than standing still. If they want to push on, they will need a more clinical and dependable goalscorer capable of making the difference in key moments.
