This past week also saw Leeds make some aggressive attempts to try and sign new players. The club targeted Udinese’s Jaka Bijol, and Strasbourg’s Habib Diarra. Bids have been sent for the two players, but there is more confidence in completing a deal with Udinese for the Slovenian international.
On Sunday, Leeds confirmed the signing of German forward Lukas Nmecha. The 26-year old has signed an initial two-year deal, and will complete his transfer from Wolfsburg on July 1st. He will arrive at Elland Road as a free agent, so there will be no transfer fee involved.
The forward can operate across the frontline as a striker or out wide. He scored three goals in the Bundesliga last season.
Useful depth up top
The squad has been needing another attacking addition since the season ended. Manor Solomon’s return to Spurs meant that Leeds lacked a serious attacking option. Great job by Daniel Farke and the recruitment team to make such an addition to the squad. His versatility and physical presence up front could make a whole lot of difference next season.
