Leeds United will have another season of top flight football at Elland Road after avoiding relegation. Many tipped the Whites to go down before the start of the season, but they exceeded expectations.

Daniel Farke has done an incredible job with these Leeds players, considering they added 10 new players in the summer. It took some months into the season to figure it out, but eventually it all worked according to plan.

They will be joined in the top flight next season by Hull City. The Tigers and Leeds did some business last summer with Joe Gelhardt joining on loan, and Darko Gyabi joining on a permanent deal.

After securing a place in the Premier League and getting the £200 million payout from winning the play-off final, the club are expected to move forward with signing Gelhardt on a permanent deal.

Leeds United eye 21-year old midfield star

Aside both Leeds United and Hull City set to do business this summer when it comes to Joe Gelhardt, both sides will go head-to-head over another transfer target.

Per Africa Foot, USL Dunkerque midfielder Anto Sekongo is a huge target of both Leeds and Hull.

The attacking midfielder has had a great campaign in Ligue 2 this season, scoring nine goals and providing four assists. His performances this year have caught the eye of many clubs in Europe.

Lille, Toulouse FC, FC Lorient, Stade Rennais, AS Saint-Étienne and Samsunspor are among the clubs keeping an eye on the 21-year old star.

The report adds that Sekongo will decide his future ‘soon’ with potentially a move to a bigger club on the cards. USL Dunkerque signed the midfielder on a free transfer, so they will make a profit on the player regardless of the transfer fee.

Daniel Farke could finally land an attacking midfielder

Many Leeds fans will remember that before their promotion campaign, Farke pushed for the club to sign a creative attacking midfielder. The club failed in their pursuit of Gustavo Hamer during that window.

The Leeds boss eventually used Brenden Aaronson in the role, and he thrived as the team won promotion.

After staying up this year, an attacking midfielder looks set to be on the radar going into next season. This Leeds team have lacked someone who can unlock defences from central areas.

A player like Anto Sekongo could fit that bill – he can score and create at a decent level. And he could be available on an affordable fee, which would be a coup for the 49ers.
