Leeds United fans had serious complaints about the transfers in the summer window. It escalated to the point that club chiefs had to sit down and address the concerns in the media.
Fans were not happy that the team missed out on ”star” names like Rodrigo Muniz and Harry Wilson.
Instead, Leeds ended up signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Lukas Nmecha and Noah Okafor among others. These three players were not welcomed by the fans initially.
But during the season, they proved that they were the right signings by the 49ers.
Calvert-Lewin was the club’s top scorer, Nmecha was a very solid rotation option and Noah Okafor was a valuable starter.
Leeds United flop linked with shock move
Leeds United were not in the best of shape near the end of last year.
The team were on a losing run and Daniel Farke was on the brink of being sacked. But Leeds then turned things around and went on an unbeaten run into the New Year.
In January, the club were motivated to add reinforcements to the team. They ended up signing Facundo Buonanotte on loan for the second half of the season.
Leeds also failed to sign Jorgen Strand Larsen in that window due to PSR.
Buonanotte was a horrible signing; despite arriving at Elland Road with expectations, he failed woefully. After a handful of appearances, he was sidelined by Daniel Farke by the rest of the season.
For a player who was a summer target, it was clear he had no way of returning to Leeds United.
This summer has seen the midfielder linked with a return to Argentina. Journalist Ariel Procile revealed that Rosario Central are keen to bring their former player back to Argentina.
Buonanotte played for the team as a youth player back in 2014, and spent eight years with them.

Facundo Buonanotte will have admirers this summer
After flopping at Elland Road in January, many will expect that the midfielder will not be highly rated anymore.
But Ariel Porcile believes that the Argentine will still be pursued by other clubs. The journalist believes that clubs in England will be keep on signing him this summer.
Rosario Central have concrete interest but it is not confirmed that they will have a free run to sign him.
Leeds fans will not remember Buonanotte fondly; he arrived at Elland Road out of shape and made no impact at all.
Hopefully, the 49ers figure out better signings this summer.
