Leeds United ended the 2025/26 Premier League season on a disappoint note. They were completely outplayed as the Hammers ran out 3-0 winners at the London Stadium.

The result came down to which team wanted it more, as West ham were desperate to avoid relegation. But it was not meant to be as Spurs held on in their game to beat the drop.

Daniel Farke even admitted that his team were second best after the defeat.

”Fair to say today that it was one game too many without too many key players. We have always found a solution but not today.

”First half was okay, good situation in the first half. The goals were all unnecessary. In possession we were not at our best today. Doesn’t take away from fantastic season.”

The Whites now have a big summer ahead of them as they prepare for another season in the top flight.

Leeds United handed huge financial boost ahead of summer window

Losing on the final day of the season meant Leeds United ended their Premier League campaign in 14th place.

They could have finished as high as 12th place if they managed to get a win, but things did not go their way.

Leeds will now earn a whopping £144.5 million according to The Athletic. This information was gathered by contacting sources at various Premier League clubs this season.

All the data projects that the league will distribute £3 billion in prize money to the 20 clubs that competed this season – the highest ever payout in recent history.

And from that, the Whites will get a huge nine-figure sum that will surely hand them an operational boost heading into next season.

49ers must get this transfer window right

Although it is known that not all of the £144 million will be spent on transfers, it does mean that there will be funds available to spend.

And that coupled with the ambition of the 49ers, means that fans will be expecting them to have another successful summer transfer window. Last year saw them add quality players to the team.

The likes of Anton Stach, Jaka Bijol and Gabriel Gudmundsson were shrewd additions who immediately impacted the lineup.

Teams that survive their first season in the top flight often struggle in their second season. So in order for Leeds to avoid that, they must make sure they recruit more quality into the team to keep them competitive.
