Leeds United to prioritise £30m move after Tarik Muharemovic deal

The 49ers surprised Leeds United fans this week as news emerged about a deal for Bosnian defender Tarik Muharemovic. It had been very quiet on that front before everything came out.

Fabrizio Romano reported that the Whites are close to sealing the deal for the 23-year old star.

Leeds will pay Sassuolo around £34 million to seal the deal for the 6ft4 center back. The team desperately needed a replacement after selling Pascal Struijk to Brighton early in the window.

It was always going to be difficult to replace a player of his level.

The club signed Struijk early in his career and he has developed to become a quality player.

Muharemovic is a prospect that has intrigued many clubs across Europe; Leeds reportedly beat Sunderland and Bournemouth to his signature. His physical profile matches the work that the recruitment team have done since last year.

Leeds United should shift focus to £30m move

Now that a move for Tarik Muharemovic has been all but sealed for Leeds United, they need to shift their focus once again.

The deal for Southampton’s Shea Charles has dragged on a bit too long. Many were hopeful of a deal being struck early in the window, but the delay has seen other sides show interest.

Per reports, Leeds had positive talks with Southampton with both sides hopeful of a deal.

The club need to put all their focus in wrapping up the deal before they depart for pre-season. Daniel Farke has shown that he prioritizes that period; and last season showed that.

Jaka Bijol and Sebastiaan Bornauw were not immediately integrated in the team as they were signed late.

Hopefully, that will not be the case with Shea Charles.

49ers are showing ambition

Southampton are said to be holding out for a fee closer to £30 million. In that case, Leeds need to wrap up the deal quickly, like they did with Muharemovic.

Harry Wilson has already been brought in, so the club know how to act fast.

The 49ers have showed their ambition; when they do complete moves for Charles and Muharemovic, that would be over £60 million spent on two players. Last summer, over £100 million was spent on 10 players.

To remain in the Premier League, you need to add quality and it looks like the ownership understand that now.

With Daniel Farke in charge, fans should be very optimistic about what happens next season.

To be fair, out of the ten players, two of those were freebies. So what you are saying is we spent £10 million per player. So you could say that it is £60 million on three players which is £20 million per player. Still double though. If we can get some more in for free like the Norway goalkeeper, that should drop a bit. Good ambition though if they manage to pull the Charles deal off.
