Leeds United spent less than last summer but still managed to bring in seven fresh faces for under £90m, and their recruitment is now turning heads.
The Whites signed Melvin Bard and Jean-Matteo Bahoya on deadline day to provide Daniel Farke with more options in defence and attack this season.
Harry Wilson and Tarik Muharemovic have added real quality to their starting eleven, and headline-grabbing arrival James Trafford on a club-record fee turned heads in the Premier League this summer.
Daniel Farke would have preferred to sign a couple more forwards, but the Leeds manager is happy with the options he has at his disposal this season.

The Athletic says Leeds United had the best transfer window in the Premier League
Journalist Nick Miller has ranked every Premier League team’s transfer window following deadline day and reserved glowing praise for the Yorkshire giants.
He listed his rankings on The Athletic and put Leeds at the top, reckoning Farke’s side had the best transfer window amongst every other team in the English top flight.
Miller wrote: “Leeds have taken a maverick approach to the window, in that they addressed some key areas of need at relatively sensible prices, and haven’t lost anyone they will particularly miss.
“It will never catch on.
“James Trafford replacing a combination of Karl Darlow and Lucas Perri in goal is among the biggest single upgrades of any club this summer, Tarek Muharemovic already looks at home while Harry Wilson on a free should fit in nicely and Jean-Matteo Bahoya is a bit of a wild card, but could be pretty exciting.
“Their willingness to loan out Willy Gnonto was mildly surprising, and they’re potentially slightly light in terms of central defensive cover if they continue playing three at the back, but otherwise they look in solid shape.”
Will Leeds regret not signing a striker?
Leeds were expected to sign a striker before the transfer window opened, and it was seen as one of their major priorities in the summer.
It became even more of a talking point after they allowed Joel Piroe to join West Ham on loan, leaving them one player short in the striker department compared to last season.
However, Leeds finally decided against bringing in a new number 9 before the transfer window closed on Tuesday, leaving them with just Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha as their two recognised strikers.
Both forwards are known for a chequered fitness history, and Leeds are again heavily dependent on Calvert-Lewin to be their talisman up front.
The Leeds medical department did an extremely good job of keeping the former Everton man fit for most of last season, but his injury history remains a concern.
Farke’s side could be one significant injury to Calvert-Lewin away from facing a major crisis up front.
