Leeds United are already preparing for the 2026/27 campaign after finishing 14th in their first season back in the Premier League.
Work is underway for Leeds to sign players and bring in ‘difference-makers’ who will build on last season’s performance and take the squad to the next level.
Leeds have already confirmed a new contract for club captain Ethan Ampadu, and are expected to agree on a new deal with manager Daniel Farke in the coming weeks.
However, there will be behind-the-scenes changes at Leeds this summer, and the departure of a long-term staff member has already been confirmed.
Leeds United confirm the departure of their Head of Sports Science
Tim Robinson, the head of sports science at Leeds, has said goodbye to the club after a long 15-year stint with the Yorkshire giants.
He was at the club during its lowest ebbs, but also played a role in scripting two promotion seasons and worked under several managers during the stint.
However, Robinson conceded that working under Marcelo Bielsa and Daniel Farke has been the most fulfilling due to the memories at created at Elland Road.
He told the Yorkshire Evening Post: “The two standouts are obviously Daniel Farke – these last three years have been incredible, both professionally and just getting to know him – and then obviously Marcelo [Bielsa], with what a unique experience that was.
“The common theme is the success that they’ve had, and the football they play, and the memories that they’ve given all of us as staff, and all the fans.
“To look back and say I’ve been a part of those historic teams and historic times is something I’m really proud of.”
Leeds need fresh ideas next season
Daniel Farke has already indicated that the status quo won’t be good enough next season, and he wants to see more ambition from the club.
Tim Robinson’s exit from Leeds shows that the club are prepared to improve and upgrade both on and off the pitch this summer.
A new head of sports science will be appointed, and Leeds will look to bring in upgrades across the board over the next couple of months.
The 49ers have already started work on expanding Elland Road, and the club are pushing to ensure the Whites are prepared for a big leap in the next few years.
