One big advantage puts Norwich City in pole position for Leeds star

Leeds United still have several key decisions to make this summer, but it appears one major call on a player’s future has already been made.

There is a real sense of optimism around Elland Road heading into the transfer window after the Whites secured a comfortable 14th-place finish in their first season back in the Premier League.

The focus is now on improving the squad and adding players who can raise the level of the team. Daniel Farke is eager to strengthen his options ahead of the 2026/27 campaign, with Leeds looking to build on last season’s progress rather than simply standing still.

Leeds need player sales as well, and the club are working on finding solutions for a few personnel who are nowhere in Farke’s plans for the upcoming season.

Largie Ramazani is one such player who will definitely leave, and Norwich City are leading the race to sign him in the upcoming transfer window.

Norwich have one big advantage over Valencia in the race for Largie Ramazani

Largie Ramazani spent last season on loan at Valencia, but is set to return to Leeds this summer without a resolution over his future.

Valencia recently held talks with Leeds over a potential deal to take him back to the Mestalla, but the two clubs are nowhere close to reaching an agreement.

The Spanish club are prepared to offer less than half of the fee Leeds want for his sale, and Norwich City’s interest has further complicated matters for Valencia.

Norwich are pushing to sign the Leeds winger this summer, and they have a key financial advantage in the race to sign Ramazani.

The Canaries are prepared to offer a significant sum to Leeds, and according to Levante-EMV, they are offering the winger more money in terms of wages as well.

Valencia are not in a position to offer the salary Norwich City are prepared to pay the Leeds star to move to Carrow Road this summer.

The Spanish club are banking on Carlos Corberan convincing Ramazani to return to Spain and appeal to the player’s emotions to beat Norwich to his signature.

Leeds need to sell him

Farke’s decision to change systems midway through last season transformed Leeds’ campaign, but it also left several traditional wingers fighting for relevance in the new setup.

As the team evolved, players such as Gnonto and Daniel James found themselves playing reduced roles, while Noah Okafor was reshaped into a more central attacking option.

The Belgian now appears to be without a natural place in Farke’s plans, and Leeds will be hoping that interest from Norwich City and Valencia develops into a concrete offer in the coming weeks.

All parties would likely prefer the situation to be resolved before pre-season gets underway. Neither the club nor the player will want uncertainty hanging over the summer as preparations for the new campaign begin.

Farke never seemed fully convinced by Ramazani, even during Leeds’ time in the Championship, and reports of concerns over his attitude during his spell at Valencia are unlikely to have improved his standing.

With the start of pre-season drawing closer, finding a resolution to Ramazani’s future is one issue Leeds would ideally like to have settled as quickly as possible.
