“Perhaps…” – Daniel Farke hints at farewell start for Leeds United attacker vs West Ham

This summer will see more changes at Leeds United at the end of the season. The club will be going into another year in the Premier League.

Many have spoken about the season after Marcelo Bielsa kept the club afloat. Back in 2020, the Whites survived relegation by a mile. Instead of strengthening the team, the additions were not great.

And from there, the team went on the decline until they eventually got relegated in 2023.

Daniel Farke has done a great job this season, guiding the team to safety. He has made the club a place for the fans to thrive. Many of them should hope that he stays at Elland Road beyond this season.

Daniel Farke hints at huge decision ahead of West Ham clash

Last week at Elland Road, the team signed off in style with a late win against Brighton. Late in the game, Farke made a huge gesture as he subbed on Sam Byram.

The defender is set to leave the club this summer, and was allowed to have his final minutes in front of the home crowd.

Ahead of the final game of this season, Daniel Farke has said that he could play Joel Piroe after the injuries to the first team. Anton Stach picked up an injury in the game against Brighton and will not be available on Sunday.

”We have Ethan Ampadu, Ao Tanaka, young players who can play like Rhys Chadwick. Perhaps other players who can play a bit deeper, Aaronson for example, Piroe is a striker but can play a little deeper. Of course a bit of a problem but young players could also be with us, also within the group we have players who can play. I don’t want to lie, it’s a tricky situation.”

Sunday could be Joel Piroe’s last game at Leeds United

When the club signed Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha in the summer, there were signs.

Joel Piroe finished as the top scorer in the Championship, but the team brought in two top level players in his position. Farke already explained why the striker played little this season.

His finishing ability is unparalleled, but the profile of center forward Leeds have needed this season fits Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha.

Reports claim that the 26-year old has suitors going into summer. That combined with lack of playing time this season could very well mean that he is off when the transfer window opens.
