Leeds United will be looking at next season as a platform to a continuous Premier League stay. The 49ers have a grand plan for the club, and that includes being a regular top flight side.

It plays a huge part in their future, and is one of the reasons for the current Elland Road expansion project.

Since the ownership took over, they have aimed to take the team to the Premier League and keep them there. Hiring Daniel Farke was one of the first steps they took as they sought promotion after being relegated in 2023.

And now that the Whites have survived their first season back in the top flight, they must do everything to stay there.

This will involve a lot of decisions being made in the transfer market, to improve upon the current first team squad.

Premier League side set asking price for Leeds United target

One area that Leeds United will be keen to address this summer is the goalkeeping department. There is a lot of uncertainty in the last few weeks at Elland Road heading into next season.

TEAMtalk have given an update on Leeds transfer target Nick Pope. The Newcastle man has been linked with a move to West Yorkshire recently.

Leeds are looking at options in the transfer market, and the England man is a candidate.

Per the report, Newcastle have set their asking price for the 34-year old at just £5 million this summer. It is also believed that the Magpies will not stand in Pope’s way if he decides to leave the club.

Eddie Howe’s side recently signed French goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen for £24 million.

Whites must sign Nick Pope

Last summer saw Leeds United take advantage of huge market opportunities when it came to transfers.

They signed one of the best midfielders in Germany for less than £20 million, got a starter at left back for around £11 million and signed Dominic Calver-Lewin on a free transfer.

£5 million for Nick Pope is something the Whites can afford this summer.

The 49ers need to move quickly to wrap up this deal – especially as no one knows what Karl Darlow will decide about his future. His contract expires in two weeks, and he currently has an offer on the table.

Signing Pope could finally end Leeds’ search for a goalkeeper after the last two seasons.
