Patrick Bamford’s miss against Leicester City had fans and pundits in shock on Tuesday night.
The striker fired wide from a few yards out at the far post with the goal gaping, deep into injury time. Clinton Morrison and the other pundits were in shock at Sky Sports’ Soccer Special studio:
“Oh my word! Bamford!”
“Look at everyone in the studio! They’ve got their hands on their head. I cannot believe Patrick Bamford’s missed. Two yards out, it’s flicked on, no one’s there, goes with his right foot and puts it completely wide.”

The Athletic writer Phil Hay had this to say about the Bamford miss:
“Needed more than that. Felt vital to win this. Went backwards in the second half, got tight, and hard to fathom Gracia making so few changes. Despite the late Bamford chance, quite lucky to get out of that with a point in the end. #lufc”
Leeds are away to fellow strugglers Bournemouth on Sunday.
