Tim Sherwood full of praise for Leeds star
The Whites turned things around near the end of last year, and their run of form was enough to keep their heads above water heading into the last months of the season. A lot players have turned up and showed their quality throughout the season, and have been very important to Farke and the club.
Tim Sherwood has been discussing the Whites’ chances of survival, and mentioned Ethan Ampadu as one of the best players in the league. He also added that the midfielder is a player a club like Tottenham need.
”Looking through their group of players, at the beginning of the season, would Tottenham have taken many of them, and I would have said no but in hindsight now when you look at it, you look at someone like Ethan Ampadu, he’s not only a good player, he’s a very, very good player, but he’s also a leader. He’s someone who wants to stand up, he’s not old but he’s got a lot of experience and he drives his teammates forward and that is what you need in this situation, you need someone willing to stand up and pull others in the correct direction with you and that’s what Ethan Ampadu has done, he’s not alone but he is dragging them to safety in this league.”

Ethan Ampadu has proven his quality this season
Tim Sherwood makes a very good point; Ethan Ampadu has been a standout player this season. He provides a solid base in midfield for other players to thrive as he takes a lot of defensive responsibility. Jamie Carragher praised him and Ao Tanaka against Manchester United, as both easily disrupted Michael Carrick’s side in the middle of the park. Ampadu has been a solid addition to the club, and has become the captain and one of the pillars at Elland Road. His contract will be one of the more interesting topic when the summer transfer window comes around.
