Joel Piroe continued his great start to the season with West Ham as he scored against Wrexham on Friday night. The Leeds United loanee now has three goals in six games in the Championship so far.

The Hammers continue their six game unbeaten run in the league under Nuno Espirito Santo.

They had a slight blip in their first two games; drawing with Burnley and losing to Charlton, but the team have turned things around. After their win on Friday night, they sit top of the league.

Nuno’s men have 14 points and are the top scorers in the league with 20 goals.

It comes as no surprise as the London club made some serious additions in the final week of the transfer window.

West Ham managed to strike a loan move for Leeds United striker Joel Piroe. They also signed former Leeds loanee Manor Solomon, whose last Championship campaign saw him end up with 22 goal contributions.

Piroe and Solomon were both on the score sheet in a thumping 6-0 win over Wrexham. The former Whites winger also had an assist in the game.

Joel Piroe scored just his third goal in the league, and some West Ham fans had good things to say about their new winger.

”Make it permanent as soon as you can.” one fan posted on Twitter/X.

Another Hammers fan called him the EFL Haaland: ”The EFL Erling Haaland strikes again”

”And West Ham fans didn’t want Piroe.” one fan posted in response to others who were not fans of signing the Leeds striker.

A West Ham fan joked that a striker like Piroe would have helped last season: ”Could have done with him last season lol.”

Leeds United striker is thriving in a new environment

It was clear that Joel Piroe had to find his way out of Elland Road this summer.

Daniel Farke even admitted after the transfer deadline that the fact that he could not promise Piroe playing time was the reason they sanctioned the loan to West Ham.

And the 27-year old seems to have landed on his feet.

Piroe seems to be used to Championship football and is performing very well. And with the conditional obligation in his loan deal, it is very likely he leaves Leeds permanently next summer.
