Leeds United confirmed their second signing of the summer on Friday, completing a £34m deal for Tarik Muharemovic.
The Bosnia international arrives as Pascal Struijk’s replacement after the Dutch defender’s move to Brighton earlier in the transfer window, giving Daniel Farke a ready-made option in central defence.
Leeds have also boosted their attack with the free signing of Harry Wilson and are still looking to strengthen in midfield to add more creativity ahead of the new season.
The Whites remain in talks with Southampton over Shea Charles and have also registered their interest in AC Milan midfielder Yunus Musah.
Should Musah make the move to Elland Road, it could open the door for the departure of a player who was once regarded as one of Leeds’ marquee signings.

Leeds United could sell one of their star signings
Ahead of the summer transfer window, midfield was one area of the squad that didn’t look like it needed strengthening before the 2026/27 season.
With Ethan Ampadu, Anton Stach, Ao Tanaka, Sean Longstaff and Ilia Gruev in the squad, it appeared Leeds would prioritise other areas of the squad.
However, Leeds’ push to sign Shea Charles and their interest in Musah shows that Daniel Farke feels that the club need upgrades in midfield.
But the arrival of even one midfielder would reduce the game time available to others. If Leeds end up signing two, they are likely to have to sell at least one player before the transfer window closes.
Ilia Gruev has a year left on his contract, but it appears the midfielder who could actually push for a move is Sean Longstaff.
The former Newcastle star would have valid reasons to push for a move out of Elland Road if Leeds strengthen their midfield options this summer.
Sean Longstaff didn’t join Leeds to be a benchwarmer
Leeds signed Sean Longstaff last summer as someone who could slot straight into the team and add Premier League experience to the newly-promoted side.
He quickly became a certainty in the starting eleven and produced solid performances that showed why Leeds signed him last year.
However, the midfielder suffered an injury in December that kept him out for weeks. However, since regaining his fitness, he has never won back his place in the starting eleven.
Longstaff spent the second half of the season as an option from the bench and played sporadically towards the end of the campaign.
If he sees that minutes are going to come at a premium next season, he is likely to push for a move out of Elland Road.
Longstaff didn’t join Leeds to be an option on the bench, and would have offers from Premier League clubs who’d be happy to offer him guarantees over playing minutes.
If Leeds bring in more midfield reinforcements, expect the former Newcastle star to push for a move.
