Leeds United confirmed their second signing of the summer on Friday, completing the £34m arrival of Tarik Muharemovic from Sassuolo.
The Bosnia international has been signed to fill the gap left by Pascal Struijk’s move to Brighton earlier in the transfer window, handing Daniel Farke an immediate replacement in central defence.
Leeds have also bolstered their attacking options with the free signing of Harry Wilson and are still in the market for an attacking midfielder as they look to add more creativity ahead of the new Premier League season.
The Whites have also been in talks with Southampton to sign Shea Charles. However, the club are prepared to turn to other midfield targets, including a player in Serie A.

Ruben Amorim, who was sacked at Manchester United following a 2-2 draw at Elland Road in January, took charge of AC Milan this summer.
The former Manchester United manager holds the key to Leeds United’s pursuit of a midfielder in the ongoing transfer window.
According to Italian outlet Calciomercato.com, Leeds have made enquiries with both AC Milan and Yunus Musah’s agents over a potential deal.
The midfielder has emerged as an option for Leeds, and the club are weighing up making a move for him in the ongoing summer transfer window.
Musah was on loan at Atalanta last season, but the Bergamo outfit declined to take up the £24m option on him this summer.
He has been linked with a move away from AC Milan. However, the club have not decided whether to sell him in the ongoing window.
Amorim and his coaching staff are evaluating Musah during pre-season, and have not decided on his future.
AC Milan will only consider offers for him once their new manager greenlights a transfer this summer.
Leeds need to sell a midfielder this summer
The Whites are well-stocked in the midfield department, and it was one area of the squad that didn’t need reinforcements this summer.
However, Daniel Farke seems determined to bring in an all-action midfielder, and Leeds have their eyes on Shea Charles and Yunus Musah.
But if Leeds do bring in another midfielder, it is likely to trigger at least one departure, with game time set to be at a premium next season.
At this stage, Ilia Gruev and Sean Longstaff seem to be the prime candidates to leave Leeds if the club sign a midfielder in the ongoing transfer window.
Gruev has a year left on his deal, while Longstaff became a squad player midway through last season and played sporadic minutes towards the end of the campaign.
