Leeds United look almost certain to remain in the Premier League now after reaching the 43-point mark, putting them in a strong position to secure another season in the top flight.

With survival appearing increasingly likely, the club have already begun planning for the summer transfer window and are assessing a range of potential targets before the campaign comes to an end.

Unlike last summer, Leeds are not expected to completely reshape the squad, but they are still aiming to strengthen several key areas ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Leeds have been stepping up their efforts to sign a striker, and are willing to make a significant financial commitment to sign one of their top targets, Juventus forward Lois Openda.

The Juventus striker has emerged as a major target for Leeds ahead of the summer transfer window as they look to reinforce their attack.

Lois Openda joined the Italian giants on loan with an obligation to buy set at £35m. However, Juventus want to offload him after he struggled in Italy last season.

Leeds have come forward as one of his major suitors and are prepared to offer him top wages to convince the striker to move to Elland Road this summer.

And according to Football Insider, Openda is warming up to the idea of joining Leeds in the upcoming transfer window.

It has been claimed that the forward is open to a move to Leeds as he considers his options before the transfer window opens in the summer.

Openda and his representatives are studying several options and would want to move to a club where he would be provided with regular football.

His strong record in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig ahead of the Juventus move means he has a strong list of suitors ahead of the summer.

Leeds are pushing to sign him on a loan-to-buy agreement with Juventus keen to recoup as much of the £35m they paid for him.

The Whites need a striker in the summer

Dominic Calvert-Lewin has played a key role in helping Leeds move closer to Premier League survival, which now looks likely to be secured in the coming weeks.

That said, his recent performances have also shown that Leeds cannot rely on him to deliver goals consistently over the course of a full Premier League season.

With survival looking increasingly certain, the club are expected to target a striker who can provide more quality in front of goal, whether that means partnering Calvert-Lewin or eventually replacing him in the starting lineup next season.

Leeds are aware they cannot afford to stand still. If they want to keep improving, they need a more clinical and dependable forward who can make the difference in big moments.
