The midweek defeat to Chelsea has disrupted Leeds United and their solid start to the season. And it seems like very early in this campaign, a first team player is already considering leaving.

Daniel Farke revealed that he was pleased with the transfer business done this summer.

Even though the 49ers had planned to add ‘at least’ one attacking player by the deadline, they managed to fill the needs of the squad. And the start of the season has proved it.

Leeds’ new recruits in the backline have impressed alongside James Trafford.

But since the window closed, there has been concern about the attack under Farke and if it is good enough for this season.

Leeds United managing director Robbie Evans revealed that the club missed out on signing a striker due to multiple factors.

They never planned on signing someone to replace Dominic Calvert-Lewin, as the England striker remains their first choice. However, finding a backup in that role was difficult, which played a part in them ending their pursuit.

Lukas Nmecha will be the backup to Calvert-Lewin this season.

However the latest news could affect things moving forward. Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider has reported that Nmecha could consider leaving Elland Road this summer.

The striker will make his decision based on how much playing time he gets this season.

Nmecha is in the final year of his contract, and had an impressive debut campaign as he scored seven goals and had three assists in all competitions. The German has already recorded two goal involvements this season.

Lukas Nmecha’s future should be of concern to the 49ers

Leeds United hit the jackpot last summer, landing Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha on free transfers.

When the duo came in, there were concerns about their injury history but both players managed to stay fit for most of last season. They also ended up as the club’s two top scorers in all competitions.

Nmecha planning to leave is something the club should look at.

Considering his value coming off the bench as a rotation piece, losing him would be a blow. He allows Dominic Calvert-Lewin to rest, and is a perfect partner alongside him in some games.

If Leeds lose him, they will also have to spend a lot of money finding a replacement in the current market. The 49ers should definitely not cave to his demands, but talks must begin over his future.

Lukas Nmecha wants to leave? The club must have striker targets already in their sights and they should now be lining up replacement/s for the January window, or even earlier by checking out the out-of-contract market. It was reported a couple of days ago that Richarlison was preparing an immediate exit from Tottenham. Worth a punt? Depends on his demands.

Totally agree but my worry is where is the money gone to buy a new striker if you consider the money we are due for players we have sent out with a loan to buy .It amounts to nearly 60 million pounds so take that from the the 85vmillions we have spent it amounts to a pathetic 25 million .It makes our spend a pathetic 25 million something is very wrong with our so called management stragegy and our ambition pathetic. We need answers from these arogant directors.
