The goalkeeping situation at Leeds United is set to rapidly change as the summer transfer window goes on. Many around the club expect that it will be one of the main areas to be addressed before the new season.
Karl Darlow ended this previous campaign as the first choice, despite being the second option at the start of the season.
Lucas Perri was brought in on a huge fee last summer, and was made the first choice during the campaign. However, his season was disrupted with injury and he never got into rhythm.
Farke benched him around the midway point, and made Darlow first choice for the rest of the season.
Leeds United had a transfer offer for Lucas Perri
Leeds United could have just one first team keeper under next month.
Karl Darlow, Alex Cairns and Illan Meslier all have their deals expiring over the next week. Meslier has been confirmed to be leaving by the club, while Darlow and Cairns have offers on the table.
When it comes to Lucas Perri, if nothing changes, he will stay next season.
However, nothing is concrete as Adam Pope revealed that there was serious interest in the Brazilian back in January.
“Perri is interesting.” Pope said on the Don’t Go to Bed Just Yet podcast.
“I learned very recently that when he was effectively dropped down to number 2, an offer apparently came in for him of similar value to what Leeds had paid.
“Apparently, that was the case.
“He is on a big contract, one of the biggest contracts until 2029, but Leeds didn’t accept that offer.
“You can guess, it was in January.”

The goalkeeping situation at Elland Road is complex
It has been revealed by The Leeds Press insider, Elland Back that things are going on behind the scenes.
Per the source, Leeds are concerned about losing Darlow to Manchester United, and are already considering contingencies. This includes a potential double swoop for Nick Pope and Zion Suzuki.
Pope is said to be available for around £5 million this summer, with Newcastle already having signed a new keeper.
Suzuki may be the tricky one; he has a reported £35 million price tag.
Nothing is set in stone, but there may be a lot of activity around the club going into the coming months. But the 49ers must try and wrap up their transfer business early.
