In the summer of 2024, Leeds United failed to make it back into the Premier League. Daniel Farke almost got his team to the top flight just one season after being hired.

The Whites had one of the best attacks in the Championship during that campaign.

Leeds had an attack lead by Joel Piroe, with a supporting cast including Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter. The club looked set for big things before they failed to win automatic promotion that year.

They also lost the Championship play-off final, which was a devastating blow to the fanbase.

Failing to make the Premier League was not enough, the club also lost their best players that summer. Big names Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter were all signed by Premier League clubs.

Since then, Leeds United have managed to make it back into the top flight.

It was a gruelling season that saw Farke’s men in the relegation battle for a large part of the campaign. They eventually finished in 14th place, ending their return on a positive note.

On the final day of the season however, they were thrashed by West Ham in London.

However it was not enough as the Hammers were relegated to the Championship. The London club now have to offload their best talents before the Championship campaign kicks off.

And this includes former Leeds United star Crysencio Summerville.

The winger had his best campaign since joining, but it was all for nothing as West Ham got relegated – his seven goals and three assists caught the eye of many clubs.

Per Foot Mercato, multiple clubs across Europe are ready to make an offer for the 24-year old.

Who is in the race for Crysencio Summerville ?

Summerville made it to the World Cup with The Netherlands, and his performances in the first two games have boosted his stock. The winger had a goal in the opening game against Japan, and a goal and assist in the second game against Sweden.

Foot Mercato lists Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Aston Villa alongside Paris Saint-Germain as the clubs interested in the former Leeds winger.

West Ham reportedly value Summerville around £40 million, which will be a price tag that scares off a lot of competition going into this upcoming summer transfer window.

Spurs, Arsenal and Villa are said to be interested in the winger despite the price tag.

This could mean the Premier League sides enter a bidding war for the former Leeds star when the World Cup ends.

And what has it got to do with Leeds exactly? He’s actually a West Ham player in case you hadn’t realised, and he leaves if the club says its evaluation has been met (was £50M, but rising as he attracts interest because of the World Cup), but he’ll be playing in the Championship if we decide to keep him. It’s not difficult…
