This summer will be a very crucial one for Leeds United, as they aim to build on this past season. The second year in the top flight tends to be problematic for recently promoted teams.
Leeds felt this back in 2020; after staying up under Marcelo Bielsa, the team nearly got relegated in the following campaign.
Farke referenced this in his press conferences at the end of the season, saying that lack of signings was the reason the team declined up to that point, and were eventually relegated a year later.
Which means this upcoming summer transfer window will be an important one for everyone at Elland Road.
3 big name free agents Leeds United could sign this summer
Sometimes, getting in free agents is a very affordable way to improve your team. Leeds United did that last summer, bringing in Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha.
The duo finished as two of the top three scorers for the club in all competitions this season.
Heading into the next campaign, there are already a few big names that will not be renewing with their current teams in the Premier League. The Whites could have the chance to swoop in and strengthen their squad.

John Stones
The Manchester City star leaves the Etihad after a very successful spell, winning six Premier League titles. Stones is just 32 and was selected for the England squad for the World Cup.
His injuries and fitness have been issues over the last few seasons, but this past year showed how Leeds managed similar problems. The Whites’ medical team managed to keep Lukas Nmecha and Dominic Calvert-Lewin healthy for most of the campaign.
Stones would add a solid presence at the back, and his ball-playing ability is a great asset any coach would have.
Harry Wilson
Leeds United failed with a deadline day bid for the midfielder last summer. Fulham pulled the plug on the deal, with the Welshman staying in London for the rest of the season.
It has paid off for Wilson, who ended up producing 11 goals and eight assists in all competitions.
Leeds could do with a midfielder who provides a great attacking threat. Wilson is also great at set-pieces, which would give the team another added advantage.
Daniel Farke has been keen on adding a playmaker, and the Welsh international fits that bill.
Rico Henry
The lesser known name among these three players; Rico Henry has been a great servant to Brentford.
His season was cut short due to injury, and his future at the club is up in the air. Nothing has been confirmed, but it certainly looks like he could leave on a free transfer next month.
When full fit, Henry is a solid left back who can also play as a left wing back.
He would fit perfectly as competition for Gabriel Gudmundsson in this Leeds team.
