The 2024/25 season was a real turning point for Leeds United. After their playoff final defeat to Southampton, a lot of things changed around the club.
The failure to win promotion lead to many key players being swooped up by Premier League sides. As well as other departures that were expected.
Leeds lost Crysencio Summerville, Georginio Rutter and Archie Gray in one transfer window.
Without their three best players, many did not give the team any chance to contend for promotion once again. But that season saw Daniel Farke exceed expectations.
The Whites hit the 100-point mark, scoring 95 goals along the way.
Daniel Farke’s team looks way more different than it was last year, with many changes to the squad.
Leeds United dealt huge blow after details of transfer clause emerge
After surviving the Premier League this past season, Leeds United will play top flight football next year.
This summer will be a crucial one for the club, as they will need to strengthen in order to avoid a decline. When Marcelo Bielsa kept the team up in 2020, lack of investment affected them.
The Whites were eventually relegated a few years later.
This past week has seen Leeds United linked with a move for West Ham winger Crysencio Summerville. The former Whites star had a great season with the Hammers, ending with a callup to the World Cup with the Netherlands.
Since he joined the London club, there had been rumours about a clause in the transfer deal. It was believed that upon Summerville earning a national team call up, Leeds United would receive an additional fee.
However, the YEP have confirmed that no such clause exists, and that West Ham will not pay any fee to Leeds.

Should Whites re-sign winger?
If there is a chance, then the club must do everything in their power to bring the winger back to Elland Road.
Summerville finished this past season with seven goals and three assists, and was a solid performer throughout the season.
Leeds this campaign have lacked a threat in wide areas; Noah Okafor has been the only player in the squad capable of scoring outside Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
Dan James has been frequently injured and Wilfried Gnonto has struggled to hit the heights of last year.
Crysencio Summerville would be a great signing for a team hoping to improve upon last season. The 49ers adding him to this side would be a great coup.
