Leeds United are rapidly running out of time to strengthen their squad on deadline day. However, one ex-Whites star could make a move in the coming hours.
Archie Gray became the youngest player to captain Tottenham in a competitive game when he wore the armband against Brentford in Spurs’ opening game of the season.
However, the young midfielder is not getting to play in his favoured position as the Whites signed two midfielders for close to £200m on big wages in Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes.
Gray played as a right-back in Spurs’ home defeat to Newcastle at the weekend, and the former Leeds star is no longer content with being played out of position.

Several clubs are interested in Archie Gray
Tottenham made him the fourth most expensive 18-year-old when they signed him from Leeds in 2024, and he is highly rated by manager Roberto De Zerbi.
However, Gray is now unlikely to feature in his favoured midfield role with Tonali and Fernandes ahead of him in the pecking order at the moment.
According to Football London journalist Alasdair Gold, there is plenty of interest in Gray ahead of the end of the transfer window tonight.
Brentford remain keen to sign the young midfielder after getting beaten to his signature by Spurs two years back. Several more clubs are now monitoring his future at Spurs.
Gray wants to play in midfield to continue to develop his game and does not want to spend another season playing as a full-back.
Tottenham do not want to sell him and rejected an approach from Newcastle United earlier in the transfer window.
However, with Gray keen to play in midfield, there is a real chance that something could happen in the final hours of the transfer window.

Will Archie Gray push for a move?
There is nothing to suggest that the former Leeds star is actively pushing to leave Tottenham on deadline day, despite his displeasure at being played out of position.
However, with De Zerbi likely to continue with the midfield pairing of Tonali and Fernandes this season, there is little room for Gray to feature as a midfielder regularly at Spurs this season.
With clubs keen to sign him, there is a real chance the midfielder could make a push to leave Spurs in the final hours of the transfer window.
Gray is a top talent, and he deserves to get game time in his favoured position to further develop.
