Things have turned around so quickly at Elland Road; it was just last month that the club looked doomed when they dropped to the relegation zone. Their fixture list after the international break looked daunting.
They had to play Aston Villa, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester City. And to top if all off, Daniel Farke was heavily under pressure, with many predicting that he would be sacked by December. The Whites have surprised everyone since then, grabbing crucial points in games against Chelsea and Liverpool.
Leeds now have five points from their last three games, and there is a lot of optimism around the club heading into the end of the year.
Simon Grayson predicts how long Daniel Farke will continue at Leeds United
Despite being instrumental in the recent turnaround in form, former Leeds boss Simon Grayson thinks Daniel Farke will eventually be sacked. He was speaking on the Don’t Go To Bed Just Yet podcast, predicting that the German might be gone in the New Year:
“I think it’s difficult to say to stick with him for the rest of the season.
“When somebody gets promoted, they should be given the opportunity until January or February to get players used to it. It’s so tough.
“The difference between the Championship and the Premier League is huge – quality, physicality.
“New players, Perri or Okafor, they’re still adjusting. Maybe they come to life in the second half of the season.”

Farke has done enough to earn extended stay
Farke is not new to all of this; when he lead the club to win the Championship title on the final day, rumours emerged that he would be sacked. Many outlets claimed that the 49ers wanted a more experienced manager in charge for when Leeds reached the top flight.

Since beginning the campaign, the German has showed that he can rub shoulders with the best. His recent run of games have proved how he has adapted to this level. Earlier in the season, fans were very frustrated with his tactics and team selection. But Farke has managed to beat Chelsea, and hold Liverpool to a draw. In both games, he showed his tactical ability, switching systems to counter the opponent – Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca admitted that his team was second best during their Elland Road visit.
