Leeds United eased their relegation worries on Friday night with a 3-1 win over Burnley at Elland Road, moving nine points clear of the drop zone and all but securing their Premier League status.
But Saturday’s results added fresh tension to the battle at the bottom, as West Ham were beaten 3-0 by Brentford at the GTech Stadium.
With Tottenham and Nottingham Forest still to play this weekend, the relegation fight looks set for more twists before the current round of Premier League matches concludes.
Spurs will travel to Aston Villa, but it’s the must-win game against Leeds at home a week from Monday that Tottenham fans are focusing on with the confidence of getting a result. However, Jason Cundy does not want them to be too sure yet.
Jason Cundy hammers a Tottenham fan for a Leeds suggestion
On talkSPORT’s Game Day phone-in on Saturday evening, Jamie O’Hara and Jason Cundy were speaking with callers and debating the relegation battle.
A smug Spurs fan called in and suggested that the Whites will now secure Premier League safety while insisting that they will beat Leeds at home a week from Monday.
Jason Cundy got into a heated debate with the Tottenham fan and reminded him that they have won just three Premier League games since the end of October.
He insisted that Spurs fans should stay low and wait for their result against Aston Villa before having grand schemes of beating Leeds at home.
Cundy said, “You have won three games since 26th October.
“It doesn’t matter what you think, as you have won two since bonfire night.
“If I were a Spurs fan, I’d crawl back under the rock and stay very quiet.”
Spurs and West Ham fans are looking at Leeds
Leeds are pretty much safe in the Premier League now that they have reached 43 points, but they could still have a big say in who ends up being relegated to the Championship.
Two of their final three league matches are away games against Tottenham and West Ham, and both fixtures could play a major role in the relegation battle.

Tottenham head to Aston Villa today, and there is a sense that their home clash with Leeds a week on Monday is one they have to win.
West Ham might also still have survival hopes when they welcome Leeds to the London Stadium on the final day of the season.
