Leeds United have gotten very active in the transfer market this week. The Whites have now agreed a deal to bring in Harry Wilson ahead of next season.

The midfielder was highly sought after this summer, but the club won the race to sign him.

Wilson is set for a medical and will eventually join Daniel Farke’s side. Leeds will finally have a creative midfielder who has output – with 11 goals and eight assists this past season.

The 49ers are showing ambition in this window with the potential signing of Harry Wilson.

Adam Pope confirmed that the Whites are looking to follow up the signing of Wilson with a move for Julian Brandt.

The attacking midfielder will be a free agent after leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer.

Leeds United dealt huge blow as club set to block transfer switch

According to Football Insider, Leeds United are pursuing a deal for Gladbach defender Nico Elvedi.

The defender is currently on international duty at this World Cup. This summer could be a pivotal point in Elvedi’s career – he is entering the final year of his deal at the Bundesliga club.

There has been no indication that he will sign a new contract, which means he could leave this summer.

Per the report, Leeds want to sign the defender for around £7 million, a fee which Gladbach are refusing to agree to. They have no intention of letting the defender go for that transfer fee.

Elvedi is said to be open to a move to Elland Road, but Gladbach are willing to ask for more money.

The German club know that they could lose him for free and that this summer could be the last chance for them to make money off him.

Whites should be looking for a defender

People around the club feel like the goalkeeping situation should be assessed first.

But the center back situation could become problematic too. Pascal Struijk is entering the final year of his deal, and from last summer, it is obvious that he is open to leaving the club.

Sebastiaan Bornauw was a backup for last season, but he is not guaranteed to remain at Elland Road this year.

Ousmane Diomande has been the main target this summer, so it is clear that a defender is on the radar. If Nico Elvedi is available, the Whites can always add another option at the back.
