Leeds United have had serious problems in attack as the season has progressed. It all started in the summer when Daniel Farke asked for quality in that area of the pitch.

The Whites let go of Patrick Bamford, Mateo Joseph and Joe Gelhardt during the summer window. Largie Ramazani was loaned out just over a week into the new season. All the club brought in before the deadline was Lukas Nmecha, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor. The trio have combined to produce 24 goals this season.

But the lack of goals outside those three has been a massive concern on the pitch. Leeds only rely on them, and unfortunately, not all three have been available at the same time for large parts of the season. Adding some new options in attack would boost the Whites chances of being competitive going into next season.

Leeds United can move for Juventus flop on one condition

According to reports, the 49ers know about the weakness in the squad and are prepared to address it. They need competition for Calvert-Lewin up top and will be prepared to splash the cash.

Per Calciomercato, Lois Openda is a name that has popped up in recent weeks. The striker will join Juventus on a permanent deal from RB Leipzig, but reports say that the Italian club do not have plans for the Belgian striker next season. Nothing is confirmed at this point, but Juventus are open to dealing with Leeds because of their previous loan deal with Weston McKennie. Per the report, the Whites will only consider a move for Openda if they manage to survive the Premier League this season.

Whites need to stay away from this deal

Even though Leeds might be desperate to add quality to the attack, any deal for Lois Openda should be shut down. If the Whites do manage to stay up, they need to avoid any move for the Belgium. Performance-wise he has been poor this season, managing two goals in 36 games this season. Juventus are regretting spending over £30 million to trigger the transfer deal. He is now an expensive asset that the club cannot use, and is very likely on high wages. What do Leeds gain bringing a player with this baggage on loan? He would cost a lot of money in the process, and he quite frankly has just not been good enough. Daniel Farke and the recruitment team have to look elsewhere.
