Leeds United have done a great job clearing house in the first team during this summer window. The club were heavily criticized by the fanbase for what happened last year.
The Whites failed to land permanent exits for Max Wober, Isaac Schmidt and Largie Ramazani among others. These players all went on loan and returned to the club this summer.
But the club have done a much better job at offloading players they did not have plans for.
Max Wober’s contract was terminated, allowing him to leave on a free. Isaac Schmidt and Joe Gelhardt were sold, allowing the club to recoup some transfer fees to reinvest.
And some players could leave before Tuesday’s deadline.

Leeds United were very particular about transfers involving first team players.
The Whites only offloaded Lucas Perri after they landed a deal for Michael Zetterer. The Brazilian was set to complete a move to Italy over a month ago, but the deal delayed and was only formalized a few days ago.
It was a similar issue with the Sebastiaan Bornauw transfer.
Daniel Farke revealed that the Belgian wanted to leave, so the club found a replacement in Nico Elvedi before sanctioning the transfer.
And this is Leeds’ stance when it comes to the final hours of the transfer window. According to the YEP, the club will recall Wilfried Gnonto if they are not able to secure a replacement.
Leeds have allowed the winger to fly to Italy in order to be available to complete a transfer in time.
But Gnonto has already been seen in Fiorentina training gear despite the transfer not having been confirmed. And now with hours to go before the window closes, Leeds have no confirmed targets.
Mykhailo Mudryk chose a move to Spurs despite the Whites pushing for a loan transfer.

Whites left it too late
Just like with last summer, fans will not be happy that the team has not been able to land key targets.
James Trafford, Nico Elvedi, Tarik Muharemovic and Harry Wilson are very good additions to the team. And the signings of Michael Zetterer and Melvin Bard will provide great depth.
But zero additions to midfield, and only one player signed for the attack is concerning.
Leeds lost Joel Piroe and could lose Wilfried Gnonto, who had many minutes as rotation and backup options. And going into the season without a replacement is not ideal.
However, the club might have left their business too late to land a sensible addition.
