Leeds United staying up is a great moment for the club. This past season has been a very successful one for Daniel Farke and his players.

Before a ball was even kicked, they were written off and some even said the Leeds boss would be sacked.

The Whites turned their season around before the end of last year, which eventually propelled them to safety. Farke showed his incredible coaching ability, switching systems mid season.

The club finished the season on a great run, which unfortunately ended when they lost to West Ham on the final day of the season.

Now that the campaign is over, the club can focus on their summer plans.

Leeds United chairman addresses summer plans

Next season will only get more difficult, and the team needs to improve in order to avoid another relegation scrap.

Over the past few weeks, Daniel Farke has spoken about the future and the need for Leeds United to get recruitment right in the summer.

Leeds United chairman Paraag Marathe has addressed the club and the fans following the end of the season. Some of his comments directly address the 49ers’ plans for this summer.

”This summer, instead of Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), the Squad Cost Ratio (SCR) will impact our transfer market approach. As our accounts reflect, we spent every penny possible, as promised, to earn promotion and keep the club in the Premier League. Our approach to the transfer market will once again be strategic and disciplined to comply with regulations while striving further to improve, and players will both arrive and depart as a result.”

Whites will have a lot on their hands in coming weeks

A lot of decisions are on the table heading into next season. Most important will be the contract of Daniel Farke, whose current deal is entering its final year.

Outside the Leeds boss, players like Ethan Ampadu and Pascal Struijk are also in the final year of the deals, expiring in 2027.

With the club set to have a strategic approach to the summer window, there will be arrivals and departures. Leeds have shown that they have a handle on signing players.

Selling players will be a huge problem; they only managed to ship out two players on permanent deals last summer.

This summer will see the likes of Jack Harrison, Largie Ramazani and Mateo Joseph return to Elland Road, and it will be interesting to see what the club does from there.
