Leeds United have already confirmed the sale of Pascal Struijk this summer and are hoping to sell a few more before the end of the transfer window.
The Whites would have preferred to hold on to Struijk had he agreed to sign a new contract. However, once the decision was made, Leeds moved him on before the end of June to balance their books.
However, Leeds are keen to move on a few more who are not part of Daniel Farke’s plans and are unlikely to add any value to their squad in the Premier League.
Isaac Schmidt is one of the loan stars who is expected to return to Leeds this summer. But he has no future at Elland Road and is already attracting interest from his homeland.
Two Swiss clubs want to sign Isaac Schmidt
Isaac Schmidt spent last season on loan at Werder Bremen. However, the German club have shown little inclination to sign him on a permanent deal this summer.
As things stand, he is due to report for pre-season training. But Leeds and his representatives are keen to find a solution as soon as possible in the coming weeks.
Schmidt is not part of Farke’s plans, and is almost certain to be shown the door at Elland Road before the transfer window closes in September.
According to Swiss journalist Andre Oechsner, two Swiss clubs are interested in taking Schmidt back to Switzerland in the ongoing transfer window.
FC Basel and Young Boys have expressed an interest in signing the Leeds defender this summer and are ready to provide an escape route out of Elland Road,
However, a lot of things need to fall in place before a deal can be agreed for the defender to leave Leeds in the ongoing transfer window.
Leeds have a few players they need to sell
Isaac Schmidt is one of several players Leeds need to sell, as they have no future at the club under Daniel Farke going forward.
Largie Ramazani is due to report for pre-season, and Valencia are still trying to find a compromise as they seek to take him back to the Mestalla this summer.
Mateo Joseph’s future is in the dark as his knee injury has made it more complicated to move him on, and he is likely to stay beyond the end of the window.
Joel Piroe is almost certain to be sold as Leeds need to sign a striker this summer. However, there are no advanced negotiations for his departure.
Wilfried Gnonto is also expected to leave, but Leeds are yet to find a club who are willing to offer a good fee for the Italian winger.
