Leeds United have suffered a major blow in their pre-season preparations during their friendly match in Chicago. The Whites are currently taking on the Reds in a friendly.
Daniel Farke’s men looked sharp in their win over Sunderland in the last game, bouncing back from a late defeat to Wrexham.
On Sunday night against Liverpool, the story has been much different. Leeds have been completely outplayed in the first period as Andoni Iraola’s men have been the better side.
Farke’s men are down by two goals at half time and it is not looking good from how they have played.
Nothing seems to be working for them in defence or attack, and they have been cut open many times by a very dangerous Liverpool side.
Leeds United hit with major blow in Liverpool friendly
Things got worse for Leeds United in this first half, with Gabriel Gudmundsson picking up an injury.
The left-back was down in the first five minutes of the game after being taken out on the edge of the box. He was clearly in pain as he was holding his back when he went down.
And in the 34th minute, Gudmundsson was down on the ground again.
This time, he seemed to have picked up a muscle injury in his leg. The Leeds left-back was treated for a few minutes on the pitch before being substituted for Sebastiaan Bornauw.
He did not look okay to continue, and fans may learn after the game the severity of the problem.

Liverpool game raises major concerns for Leeds
Apart from the fact that the club could lose one of their key players from last season, the on-field performance has not been great in the first half.
Leeds have been opened up by a Liverpool side who are not at full strength. Daniel Farke has fielded a near full-strength team with regular starters, while Iraola has just a few first-team stars.
There were concerns in both the Wrexham and Sunderland games before this one.
If anything, it shows that Leeds United have to continue their push in the transfer market. The club have made just two signings so far, and it is clear that the team needs more.
Next season is going to be even more difficult than the last one, and the 49ers need to prepare for that.
