Leeds United star likened to £100m sensation

Leeds United have made some very good transfer decisions over the past two seasons.

Following some truly bad transfer windows which sent the club to relegation, Leeds have made much more cautious moves in the market. And with the arrival of Daniel Farke last year, the club keeps on signing good players. It has been revealed that the Leeds boss has had a hand in recruitment since he arrived.

Some of the arrivals in the past two seasons have been very beneficial to the team. The club found a long term striker in Joel Piroe, Leeds picked up Ethan Ampadu for a bargain £7million fee and he has become one of the best midfielders in the division. Joe Rodon arrived from Spurs and has made his presence felt in the backline.

This summer, the club had to bring in replacements after they lost key players. Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter joined Premier League clubs. Leeds lost the EFL Championship Player of the Year, the club’s Young Player of the Year and a star attacking midfielder who provided 15 assists last season.

It was going to be a huge task to replace these stars while remaining good enough to fight for promotion. But some of the summer signings have stood out; Ao Tanaka has been fantastice since he joined from Fortuna Dusseldorf. The Japanese international has deputised for Ethan Ampadu and Illia Grueve. Largie Ramazani has also had a bright start to his early Leeds career, with three goals and an assist so far. FBref has compared the Belgian to Premier League stars like Jarrod Bowen, Morgan Rodgers and Chelsea’s €100m star Mykhailo Mudryk.

Daniel Farke recently said he was surprised no team picked up the young belgian star in the summer:

“Largie Ramazani – no English club ever wanted him, he was just relegated in Spain last season, he was suspended with red cards and also yellow cards and no-one really believed in his quality.

“It looks like, with bargains, we are building a really good team.”

Is Largie Ramazani that good?

Injuries have meant he has had a stop start season, but with four goal involvements in just over eight games, it is a very promising sign of how well he can do if he plays more games. Ramazani had three goals and five assists in just 16 starts in La Liga two seasons ago, he is set to surpass that tally this season.
