Leeds United have agreed a deal to sign Harry Wilson on a free transfer this summer. The midfielder’s contract with Fulham expires in the coming days.
Wilson has chosen to move to Elland Road, with reports that other clubs like Aston Villa were interested.
Leeds have benefited from signing free agents over the last few seasons. Last year saw the Whites bring in Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha, who ended up as the club’s top scorers in all competition.
Fans were not really happen when the duo arrived.
Most had concerns about the injury records of both, but Leeds did a great job as they were available for most of the campaign.
But from multiple reports, it look like the search for midfielders at Elland Road will not end with the arrival of Harry Wilson. The Whites have a long list of targets they could sign in the coming months.
Leeds United target set for big move
One player who will not be joining Leeds United this summer is Hayden Hackney.
The 24-year old finished last season with six goals and seven assists as Middlesbrough failed to reach the Championship play-off final. But it looks like he is set to play in the Premier League next season.
Per John Percy of The Telegraph, Everton are closing in on signing the English midfielder for around £25 million this summer.
There is belief that a deal can be reached this week, with expectations that an agreement will be settled later in the week.
Everton want to get the deal done before their pre-season starts. Hackney was linked with Leeds United and Crystal Palace over the last few months, but he is now set for Merseyside.
Middlesbrough are already preparing for the midfielder’s departure, as they have made contact with Leicester City for Oliver Skipp.

Whites set for midfield revamp
From all the reports in the last couple of weeks, it is clear that the 49ers want to revamp the club’s midfield.
Harry Wilson can play in midfield as an attacking midfielder, and the club are also eyeing a move for free agent Julian Brandt. Leeds also had a bid rejected for Shea Charles last week.
Midfield was not a glaring issue last year, so it just looks like the club is adding more quality ahead of next season.
If the 49ers can deliver, then the Whites will be a better team than they were last season.
