As many as four Leeds United stars are involved in the ongoing World Cup, but the tournament has also thrown up some potential targets for the club.

Leeds are unlikely to sign anyone based on their World Cup performances alone, as that strategy has led to countless failures at several clubs over the years.

Their recruitment team are expected to make decisions on long-term scouting and data, but several players that Leeds have eyes on are involved in the World Cup.

Ousmane Diomande is with the Ivory Coast squad, and Leeds are also keeping tabs on one more centre-back, who has already been part of a thrilling win in the tournament.

Lee Han-Beom has been made available this summer

Lee Han-Beom started and starred in South Korea’s win over the Czech Republic in the opening game of his national team’s World Cup campaign.

The centre-back, who turns 24 tomorrow, has emerged on the radar of several Premier League and Serie A clubs in the ongoing transfer window.

Leeds are among the clubs who are keeping close tabs on the defender with a view to potentially signing him ahead of the new season.

And according to journalist Ben Jacobs, FC Midtjylland are willing to sell the South Korean defender in the ongoing transfer window.

The Danish club are aware that they won’t be able to hold on to him following the World Cup and are prepared to sell him this summer.

It is unclear what the club want, but they would want to make the most of Han-Beom’s form and get a premium fee from his sale.

The centre-back has made 57 appearances in all competitions for club and country in the 2025/26 campaign.

Leeds need clarity over Pascal Struijk

Daniel Farke would prefer Pascal Struijk to stay at Leeds United and commit his long-term future to the club, but there is still no certainty over what the defender plans to do.

With the summer transfer window now in full swing, Leeds need clarity on the situation. The club cannot risk waiting until late in the window for Struijk to reach a decision, only to find themselves scrambling to secure a replacement with little time left.

Farke and the Leeds hierarchy will be hoping for a clear indication of Struijk’s intentions before pre-season gets underway next month, giving them the opportunity to plan properly for the season ahead.

The last thing Leeds want is a prolonged period of uncertainty hanging over one of their most important players. Whether Struijk remains at Elland Road or decides to move on, having a resolution sooner rather than later would put the club in a much stronger position heading into the new campaign.
