Leeds United target spotted alongside Arsenal star ahead of sensational free transfer

Leeds United have wasted little time building on their summer recruitment, with the ÂŁ34 million signing of Tarik Muharemovic from Sassuolo marking another major statement of intent.

The Bosnia international completed his move to Elland Road on Friday, becoming the second-most expensive signing in the club’s history as the 49ers continued to back Daniel Farke in the transfer market.

His arrival fills one of Leeds’ biggest needs ahead of the new Premier League season. With Pascal Struijk departing for Brighton last month, Farke required a commanding presence at the heart of his defence, and Muharemovic is expected to step straight into that role.

Leeds are also pushing to bring in an elite attacking midfielder to solve their creative issues as Farke is aware that his team need to score more goals next season.

Whites target spotted with Arsenal star at former club

Leeds have a few priority targets they want to bring in soon, and they are working hard behind the scenes to finalise a triple swoop this summer.

The Whites are still pushing to land Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford, who is also the top target for Newcastle United in the ongoing window.

Leeds’ pursuit of Shea Charles is set to get more complicated soon. However, the club are hopeful that the player’s insistence on joining the Whites will prevail.

Julian Brandt continues to remain a major target for Leeds, and his father was at the club’s training facilities last week as the Whites emerge as favourites to sign him on a free transfer.

Sky Sports reporter Zinny Boswell revealed that the German is working hard on his fitness at Bayer Leverkusen’s training facilities.

The German club has allowed him to use their facilities as he awaits finalising his next destination.

The attacking midfielder was spotted with Arsenal star Kai Havertz at Leverkusen’s facilities, who is also training at his former club during his time off after the World Cup.

Leeds have a real chance of signing Julian Brandt

The 49ers have already made significant progress in their pursuit of the former Borussia Dortmund star.

Convincing Brandt’s father, who also acts as his agent, to visit the club is an encouraging sign and suggests Leeds have a genuine chance of getting a deal done. Over the past year, the Whites have shown they can sell their long-term vision to players who would once have looked beyond Elland Road.

The arrivals of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Harry Wilson and Anton Stach are clear examples of that, with all three choosing Leeds despite interest from clubs with bigger reputations.

There is still plenty of work to do, and a competitive financial package will almost certainly be needed. But given the progress already made, signing Julian Brandt on a free transfer no longer feels like a long shot.
