Leeds United were recently linked with Millwall defender Japhet Tanganga. According to reports, he has a release clause of £2million.
Pundit Lee Hendrie has told Leeds, and the other promoted clubs, to try and sign the 26-year old:
“Well, it’s absolutely nothing really when you think about it, with the fees that we see these days, but obviously he sees himself stepping back into the Premier League which – I’ve watched him at Millwall quite a lot – and you can see that he’s got that strength, that power,” Hendrie told FLW.
“To be fair he obviously backs himself to take that step up, but yes, i’d be very surprised if one of the newly-promoted clubs wouldn’t take a punt on him.
“I think it’d be crazy if they didn’t go and activate that release clause, he can definitely do a job for sure so it would not surprise me if that was in the summertime it happens.”
Tanganga would be the ideal depth signing
With the recent news involving Max Wober, Leeds could be forced into adding another defender this summer. For the release clause stated, signing Japhet Tanganga seems to be a no brainer. He comes with versatility and a lot of Premier League experience.
The 26-year old can also fill in at fullback, which would fill two positions in the squad. There is a major possibility the club loses a few fullbacks this summer, so Tanganga would be the perfect fit.
