With safety now appearing close, the club have already begun preparing for the summer transfer window and are assessing several potential targets before the campaign comes to an end.
Unlike last summer, Leeds are not expected to make major changes across the squad, but they still want to improve a number of key areas ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Juventus striker Lois Openda has emerged as a top target for Leeds, who are looking to bring in a new striker in the upcoming summer transfer window.
However, Leeds face Premier League competition for his signature.
Lois Openda is also wanted at Bournemouth
Juventus are prepared to offload the striker, who has struggled in Italy this season after two solid campaigns at RB Leipzig previously.
Leeds have come forward as major suitors for the forward, and are prepared to make a significant financial commitment to sign him in the summer.
Openda is also open to a Leeds switch, but he has yet to decide, and the Whites are now facing Premier League competition for his signature.
According to journalist Sebastien Vidal, incoming Bournemouth manager Marco Rose wants to reunite with Openda at the Vitality Stadium next season.
Rose, who will take over at Bournemouth from Andoni Iraola at the end of the ongoing season, managed the forward RB Leipzig and brought the best out of the striker in Germany.
He wants to reunite with him at Bournemouth in the summer and is pushing the Cherries to get involved in ther race for the striker.
Leeds are keen to sign him on a loan-to-buy agreement, and Juventus are pushing to get as much of the £35m they paid for him upfront as part of any agreement.
The Whites can do better in the market
Bournemouth are likely to be in Europe and could even qualify for the Champions League by the end of the season.
Openda knows Marco Rose, and the incoming Bournemouth manager is the man who got the best out of the striker at RB Leipzig. He is likely to favour a move to the Cherries over Leeds.
However, this could be a blessing in disguise as the forward has flattered to deceive in Italy and has looked nowhere the player he was in Germany.
If Leeds are to spend £35m for a player plus top wages, they need to bring in someone who is more proven than Openda at the moment.
The Whites are still not in a position to spend big money on gambles and should look for a better option with Premier League experience in the summer.
