Last summer Daniel Farke made it clear in pre-season which Leeds United players he had planned with for the Premier League campaign. His decisions ruffled some feathers early on.

Patrick Bamford was left out of the list for the training camp in Germany.

It was later revealed that Farke had spoken to him and told him that he would not be counted on. This saw Bamford request to leave the club, which was obliged during the summer window.

Another shocking decision involved bringing back Jack Harrison.

The plan was to reintegrate him into the first team, as the team would rely on his Premier League experience. Harrison ended up playing just over 400 minutes and forced a loan deal in January.

Graham Smyth reveals that Leeds United are done with first team star

It is early in Leeds United’s pre-season, but the club is already clearing out some names.

Isaac Schmidt is gone, and Illan Meslier left on a free transfer. Farke was not a fan of either player and the club decided to move on from both of them with Schmidt being sold this week.

According to Graham Smyth in his transfer Q&A this week; Farke and Leeds not give Lucas Perri a chance in this upcoming season. He stated it point blank in the write up.

”I do not think Leeds will give Perri another chance to be number one for the upcoming season. I think Leeds go and get a first-choice stopper.”

That has looked like the plan as the season ended; Karl Darlow’s departure complicated things a bit, but the 49ers are focused on bringing in a new goalkeeper.

Lucas Perri will definitely leave this summer

It was unfortunate how Perri’s debut season went in England.

He was okay when he arrived, but injuries derailed his campaign completely. The last injury he came back from saw him make mistakes, and Farke quickly benched him.

Now, he has no chance of being a starter next season.

Torino have already reached out and agreed personal terms. Per reports, it will be a loan deal with an option to buy. Leeds are okay with the Brazilian leaving but only if they can sanction a replacement.

This could take a while as a lot of the targets are moving around; the 49ers are yet to make a move for a new stopper.
