Leeds United boss Daniel Farke can be a frustrating figure sometimes. Fans at the club have had some valid questions over his tenure at Elland Road. But ultimately, the German has been a big positive at the club.
He was put in charge two years ago, with the aim of sending Leeds back to the Premier League. Farke almost achieved this, but the club lost to Southampton in the play-off final. Many players left in the summer, with Farke heading into the next season without three of his best players. Archie Gray, Georginio Rutter and Crysencio Summerville left last summer. Leeds still managed to lift the Championship, and hit the 100-point mark.
Despite all this, Farke can sometimes have his negatives in charge.

Player selection is one the fans usually have an issue with. When the Leeds boss makes a decision, he rarely goes back on it. The club made big money signings this season, but Farke stuck to the regular first team players as Largie Ramazani and Isaac Schmidt were left on the bench. Joe Gelhardt was one of the players who lost out because of this, he could not break into the team even with Joel Piroe as the only recognized striker.

So the forward pushed for a loan to Hull City. Gelhardt had decent campaign with the Tigers, scoring five in 19 starts. There was news early last month that Hull were interested in keeping him next season. But this latest development could change things. Tigers boss Ruben Selles could leave the club in the coming days, with reports that other Championship clubs are keen on him per Mike McGrath.
A managerial change will no doubt affect transfers, which could mean a move for Joe Gelhardt could be scrapped.
Leeds should hope deal does not fall through
For Leeds’ sake, Hull City should not make a change in order for the deal to go through. Gelhardt is clearly looking forward to a future away from Elland Road. If the potential move is scrapped, the club need to hope other clubs in the Championship are interested enough to move for the 23-year old.
