Daniel Farke ‘has had enough’ at Leeds amid fresh claims about the board

Leeds United ended their final home game of the season in stunning fashion. On Sunday, they took on Fabian Hurzeler’s Brighton who were competing for Europe.

Throughout the week, pundits had claimed that the Whites would ‘take their foot off the gas’, but that was the opposite of what they did. They fought back to deny Spurs a win on Monday.

And on Sunday, they held on for 90 minutes to score a late winner to take all three points against the Seagulls. The team wrapped up their home game in front of a packed Elland Road crowd.

Daniel Farke already helped the team clinch safety, and the players made it a memorable day with the win over Brighton.

Former Premier League scout makes Daniel Farke claim

Outside the game, talks about Daniel Farke’s future at Leeds United dominated the headlines. He spoke at length about his contract, and the club’s ambition heading into the future.

On Sunday, Tim Sherwood claimed that he heard whispers that the Leeds board were unhappy with the German. Former Manchester United scout Mick Brown has now given his stance on the situation.

“Farke has called on the board for more support,” Brown told Football Insider.

“He’s had enough with managing on a small budget and bringing in solid players without ever really making waves by bringing in top players to improve the squad.

“We have spoken before about the level of players Leeds need to bring in, and now it’s clear the manager wants to make progress in that department as well.

“He can’t keep squeezing the stone in that respect, he’s got everything he can out of this team.

“Now, the board are going to be forced to back him with better quality players and they will have to be ambitious to keep progressing.

“You start to get the feeling that after Leeds secured survival early, the club would’ve been happy with that, but the manager is saying it’s not enough.

“So there’s been a few suggestions he could leave Leeds, whether he walks away or they let him go, but now he’s challenged the board to back him and show some ambition.”

This is the best time for Leeds United to back their manager

This week, Daniel Farke laid all his cards on the table – he said he is willing to stay, but will need the club to match his ambition. The club made a huge mistake after Bielsa guided them back to the top flight in 2020.

They failed to back him in the transfer market, and the team declined before they got relegated in 2023. Now, Farke is pushing for the club to do better and help the team ahead of next season.

Now is the time for the 49ers to step in, and publicly back the manager and assure the fans about improving the team this summer. Not many managers can do the job Farke has done this season, now the owners need to make the right decision.

It’s simple … no brainer, just back him, sit back and enjoy the ride, he won’t let them down.
