West Ham lost to Newcastle United on Sunday and are on the brink of being relegated. If results do not go their way midweek, their season is over.
Their relegation rivals Tottenham play Chelsea, with Spurs two points ahead of the Hammers. A draw would give Roberto De Zerbi’s men an upper hand heading into the final day. A win would seal Nuno Espirito Santo’s fate.
So now West Ham will have to hope that Chelsea beat their rivals and send the relegation race to the final day. Nuno has already been speaking about the upcoming game.
Fans have booed this Hammers team after their bad results over the last few weeks. But the West Ham boss has asked them to play for pride when they host Leeds this weekend.
Simon Jordan makes bizarre West Ham claim
Daniel Farke’s men will be full of confidence going into that game, after beating Brighton on Sunday. The Whites were able to end their final home game of the season on a high note.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored the only goal, late in extra time to steal all three points against Fabian Hurzeler.
Ahead of this weekend’s game, Simon Jordan has said on talkSPORT that he expects the Hammers to turn up and beat Leeds United at home.
“We also have to remember, this is one hell of a season.
“This is one of the highest totals in the last ten years for a team to get relegated.
“The average team getting relegated had 36 points.
“If West Ham beat Leeds, which they probably will, because they will be at home, and the least they can do is turn up for that.
“They will get 39 points.”

Leeds are the favourites on Sunday
There is no way that Leeds United are not the favourites heading into this weekend’s game. Simon Jordan may think that the Hammers will show up on their final home game, but the team have been terrible.
Nuno’s men have lost three league matches in a row, which has played a big part in why they have slipped behind Spurs in the table.
They have also won just two home games since February. Leeds on the other hand are on a great run; having beaten Manchester United, drawn with Bournemouth and won three points against Brighton.
The team will be eager to give their travelling fans a proper send off in the final game of the season in London.
Well there is little to commend in this article. Tottenham’s superior goal difference renders West Ham’s result academic if Spurs gain one point against Chelsea and Simon Jordan making predictions begs the question whatever happened to Mystic Meg ?
