When Leeds United returned from the last international break, things looked daunting in the relegation battle. But they have put together a great run of results that has seen them survive.
Now, they will have a say in the team that gets relegated on the final day of the season. After their safety was mathematically confirmed by West Ham losing to Arsenal, Leeds faced Spurs.
Roberto De Zerbi’s men looked like favourites, and were close to winning after taking the lead in the game. But the Whites rallied and got a late equalizer, and could have won the game.
Now, Spurs and West Ham will go into the final day of the season knowing that a win and a poor result from their rival could see them to safety.
Danny Murphy makes bold claim ahead of Leeds United game
West Ham and Leeds United will face off for the third time this season. The Whites are unbeaten against the Hammers, and even knocked them out of the FA Cup recently.
Going into the game, Leeds are slight favourites due to their current form in the league, but others believe otherwise.
Danny Murphy said on BBC Match of the Day that the Hammers will have less pressure on them going into Sunday’s game which could help them get a result.
“I think the pressure is more on Tottenham because it’s in your hands.
“When you are coming out for West Ham, and you are playing that game [against Leeds], and you are relying on somebody else, you can kind of just play free.
“You know it might not go your way anyway, so there is a bit less pressure.”

West Ham are in real danger
Anyone who thinks the Hammers will be under less pressure against Leeds is wrong. They are two points behind Spurs and will desperately need a win to secure their Premier League status.
They have been in poor form, and their fans have booed them off the pitch in recent weeks. All the pressure will be on them to get a win on Sunday.
Leeds on the other hand, will have nothing to play for. They can relax, make a few changes before the game, knowing that their fate has been decided already.
But just like at Elland Road last weekend, Farke and his boys will be eager to put on a show for the travelling fans.
